Google Analytics
Like millions of other website owners, this website uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a piece of software that acts like an advanced server log. It collects data about website visitors and and how they interact with the website
What does Google Analytics record?
Google Analytics captures a range of information about the visitor. This includes things such as which pages they visit and how long for, to how they found the website and whether this was done on a desktop or mobile device.
What do we do with your data?
The information recorded allows Elemy to better understand our website visitors by finding out the pages they’re interested in, how they found them, and the pages they don’t choose to visit. This allows us to adapt and change our website content to hopefully make it more interesting and useful to the visitor (you!).
Occasionally, we may use this data to compile statistics about the website and the type of user – e.g. does the visitor use a smartphone or desktop pc to access this site? This type of reporting uses no personally identifying data and is used only to better understand the needs and wants of our potential customers.
All of this activity falls within the bounds of the Google Analytics Terms of Service.
Cookies
What are cookies?
Cookies are simple text files with small pieces of data. When you visit a site that uses cookies for the first time, a cookie is downloaded onto your PC. The next time you visit that site, your PC checks to see if it has a cookie that is relevant (that is, one containing the site name) and sends the information contained in that cookie back to site.
The site then ‘knows’ that you have been there before, and in some cases, tailors the information shown to take account of that fact. This website uses Google Analytics, which uses cookies.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
If you have any further questions about the use of your data, please contact us at elemy@info.net.
