A Wonderful Night Of Celebrations At The Tees Business Awards On Thursday!
The event was held at Hardwick Hall’s Coleman Suite, an amazing venue which was impressively set out for a night of celebrations. The night was a sell-out, with 380 people in attendance eagerly awaiting to hear the winners for each of the 12 awards. The Tees Business events headlining sponsor was Double Eleven, a global games developer.
Pam Royle DL and Peter Barron MBE DL were our lovely hosts of the evening, who provided such a warm welcome. Alongside Bianca Robinson, the leader of CEO Sleepout, which was the chosen charity of the night. CEO Sleepout is a Teesside-based national charity who have raised an incredible £4.6 million for homeless charities across the UK over the past 11 years. CEO Bianca Robinson has slept rough a remarkable 80 times for the charity!
For the second year running, Elemy Ltd was shortlisted for Small Tees Business of the Year alongside four other incredible Teesside businesses: Aceda, Durata, Event Cup Solutions and Hogg Global Logistics.
Each category was announced and then followed by a short video showing the business, what they do, and why they think they should win. The category was the most sought after of all the awards, with 50+ nominations. The sponsor for this award was Tees Valley Combined Authority who presented the award to well deserved winners, Event Cup Solutions.
For Elemy, it’s been a year of investment, developing the new site and expanding operational capability. An increase in work and ventures into new markets have also allowed Elemy to create more jobs, including offering our first apprenticeship. Winning the award last year gave us a great platform to expand our customer base not only nationally but particularly in the North East. Although we didn’t win this year, to make the shortlist was an excellent achievement for Elemy and it was an honour to be a finalist for this incredible award.
Congratulations to all of this year’s winners! It was amazing to celebrate all things business on Teesside and learn more about our local business community.
Managing Director Richard Brine said: “Elemy was standing proud as a table of 10 for what was a really great night. We were not the winner of Tees Small Business of the Year this time, but to be a finalist in the most sought after award by application, especially after winning this trophy last year was a really positive achievement.
Once again, to be finalist in an area that has thousands of small business’s is credit to those who have made this happen, both within Team Elemy and other stakeholders who have supported us along the way. It proves that hard work pays off and to be recognised 2 years running is high praise indeed.”
Overall, Elemy is extremely grateful to have been selected as finalists and would like to thank Tees Business for an amazing night!
